Life for most of us has certainly changed in the last 9 months.  The pandemic has affected people in different ways, although we can probably all agree that it is has changed the way we work.

Some people have remained at work the entire time, just under challenging circumstances, while others started working remotely.  In some cases, people have changed careers, lost their job or even started a new business.

This was the case for one of my clients who lost her job in early spring.  She saw the opportunity to start the business that she had been dreaming of for years.

As with any new business, she faced quite a few challenges.  However, she also had to face the unique obstacles brought on by the pandemic, like not being able to meet her clients in person and managing her kid’s remote learning.

Like so many in her shoes, she needed to find a new type of resilency to be happy and healthy, and productive in both her business and home life.

For each challenge she faced, I posed a questions in our coaching sessions to help her find that balance.

Challenge Question
I’ve never met my clients. What are some of your strengths that you can use to overcome this situation?
I don’t know what to focus on. What is most important to you right? Are there some expectations you can let go of?
I don’t know how to balance both starting a business and helping my kids?

What opportunities are available to you? Where can you seek support if you need it?

I am feeling overwhelmed and lacking time for myself.

What do you need more of in your physical, emotional and spiritual areas of your life? What is a new healthy activity you could explore at this time?

I feel stuck when things get bad.

Would having a different perspective help guide you when things get difficult?

If you feel like you are having difficulty balancing your daily life, these questions can help you gain some self-awareness. I have my clients write down their answers in a journal, so we can review it together.

For this client, once we talked about her answers, I was able to come up with some strategies to help her find balance. If you want to hear more about those strategies, I encourage you to schedule a free one-one-one with me.

Life is busy, but it’s also important to take care of yourself.  Take some time to answer these questions and let me know what you discover!
